Lesser Flamingos, Rift Valley, Kenya |
#M043-17 | |||||
Lesser Flamingos, Phoenicopterus minor,
file past a steaming hot spring in the Rift Valley of East Africa. Flamingos, like baleen whales, are filter feeders - a way of life unusual among the vertebrates. Two species gather by the millions in the soda lakes of the Rift Valley to extract plankton from the alkaline waters; three others inhabit the Americas. This photograph is available as an 11x16" signed print, archivally mounted and matted or archivally framed in black metal. Mounted size is 17"x22" (43x56 cm).
