Flamingos in the Mist Photographed in the Rift Valley |
#C28-20 | |||||
Dawn mist rises from hot springs in the Rift
Valley of Kenya, creating a primeval atmosphere.
Flamingos, like baleen whales, are filter feeders - a way of life unusual among the vertebrates. Two species gather by the millions in the soda lakes of Africa’s Rift Valley to extract plankton from the alkaline waters; three others inhabit the Americas. The birds in this photograph are Lesser Flamingos, Phoenicopterus minor. This photograph is available as a 16x24" signed print, archivally mounted and matted or archivally framed in black metal. Mounted size is 22"x30" (56x76 cm).
